The purpose of this essay is to explain the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on American urology trainees, with a particular emphasis on virtual learning efforts. Urological education was compelled to react quickly in the face of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020. Quarantines, relocation of residents and staff, and the suspension of regularly planned conferences were all significant problems. To fill the void, urologists around the country used web-based platforms to create virtual lecture series.
During the epidemic, urology trainees were able to continue their studies because of virtual education programs. While the pandemic’s long-term influence on urology training is uncertain, some positives may be found in the unique solutions that have emerged in urology education.
