Combined medical and work-loss costs for fatal injuries exceeded $214 billion in 2013, according a report from the CDC. Available for free at www.cdc.gov, the report states that costs from fatal injuries represented approximately one-third of the total $671 billion in medical and work-loss costs associated with all injuries in 2013.
