The purpose of this study was to provide an overview of a novel therapy method for prostate cancer called high-intensity transurethral directional ultrasound. Because prostate cancer is a diverse illness, some individuals choose active surveillance and targeted treatments over definitive treatment with radical prostatectomy or radiation therapy. Prostate MRI has become a standard tool for diagnosing prostate cancer, performing targeted biopsies, and planning therapy. Transurethral high-intensity directional ultrasound enables MRI-guided prostate gland ablation while contouring borders and sparing important structures such as the neurovascular bundle and urinary sphincter. Although the results are still in the early stages, this might provide patients with a new alternative for focused treatment with a good side-effect profile.

High-intensity transurethral directional ultrasound is a new therapeutic technique with encouraging early outcomes for both whole-gland and localised ablation. More study is required to determine the safety, tolerability, and long-term oncologic results.
