Advanced radiography use in the ED appears to have increased since 2007 in injured patients despite a decreasing diagnostic yield for non-head CTs, according to a study. Head CT use increased from 9.6% in 2007 to 11.6% in 2010, while non-head CT use increased from 5.5% to 7.3%. The diagnostic yield for head CT was unchanged, but fell from 6.4% to 3.3% for non-head CT.
